Yescapa reviews: what customers complain about

A summary of 33 public complaints about Yescapa, read and coded one by one. Because Yescapa is a peer-to-peer platform, we separate what the complaint says about the platform from what it says about the vehicle owner.

Figures calculated on 13 October 2026 from 33 public complaints about Yescapa published on OCU (24), DECO PROteste (7), Portal da Queixa (2), between 2024-05 and 2026-10. 30 were filed by renters and 3 by vehicle owners. We read and coded each one by hand. These are complaint platforms: they collect problems, not satisfaction, so they cannot be used to rank companies. Methodology.

Who the complaints are about

In a peer-to-peer rental the vehicle and the deposit are often in the owner's hands, while the platform handles the booking, the payment, the insurance and the mediation. Complaints filed by renters:

Against the platform (handling, cancellations, refunds, damage decisions)33% (10)
Against the owner and the platform (vehicle condition or deposit, and how the platform mediated)60% (18)

Did Yescapa reply?

On these platforms the company can answer each complaint. Yescapa replied publicly to 85% of the complaints where we could check it. A reply does not mean the case was solved.

Before renting on a peer-to-peer platform

  1. Read the listing's own conditions: deposit amount, who holds it, mileage, cleaning and extras. Each owner sets their own.
  2. Do the inventory with the owner, with photos and video of every existing mark, and keep a copy: how to document pick-up and return.
  3. Report any damage or incident through the platform within 72 hours of the end of the rental: Yescapa does not process reports sent another way (source).
  4. Keep the conversation inside the platform and pay for the booking only through it, never by bank transfer to an account sent to you by email or message. Yescapa states that it never asks for transfers to a specific account (public reply on DECO PROteste, 5 May 2026). The deposit is paid as the listing states.
